Why I built this

I got into safety because I believe every person has the right to go home. Not as a policy. Not as a metric. As a human being with a life and a future worth protecting.

That belief has driven every decision I've made in this career, and it's the standard I hold myself to every single day. But belief alone doesn't build a safe organization. Systems do. Culture does. Technology does. Aegis Safety is what happens when those three things come together.

The approach

I'm an EHS leader with over 13 years of experience who operates at the strategic level. Across every organization I've worked in, spanning industrial hygiene, construction, demolition, asbestos abatement, hazardous waste, oil and gas, and federal disaster response, I've done the same thing: assessed the full landscape, found the critical gaps in safety programs and regulatory compliance, and built the solutions that closed them.

Not waited for a vendor. Not submitted a request. Built them.

That's the difference behind Aegis. It wasn't designed by technologists guessing at what the field needs. It was built by someone who has stood on the job sites, written the job safety analyses by hand, navigated the regulations, and led the crews, and who got tired of watching good safety data go to waste.

What I've built (and the results)

A consistent signature across my career: identifying where technology can prevent incidents and recover value, then designing and building the solution rather than waiting for one to exist.

  • An AI-powered safety assistant approved for enterprise-wide rollout across a multi-billion-dollar organization with tens of thousands of employees
  • A predictive analytics dashboard that surfaces hazard trends invisible to traditional safety tracking
  • Digital field inspection systems replacing paper with real-time, auditable compliance intelligence
  • Gamified engagement programs, anonymous reporting platforms, and bilingual training resources

The results have been measurable every time:

  • Over $1 million in recovered annual labor costs at a single branch
  • 600+ consecutive days without an OSHA recordable injury, a new performance record
  • A 1,000%+ increase in safety participation from a workforce that had checked out
  • First and only recipient of a Safety Manager of the Year award in a company’s history

The human side and the operational side are the same thing

I don't separate them. A workforce that trusts their safety leader shows up differently. They report hazards. They stop work. They look out for each other. That culture doesn't come from a policy manual. It comes from leadership that means what it says.

My professional mission is simple: foster a world-class safety culture wherever I go, treat every person with the dignity and respect they deserve, and never turn a blind eye to an unsafe act. That's not a tagline. It's a contract I make with myself and every person I work with.

My Safety Philosophy

My work in safety has taken many forms. Managing programs in the field, advising organizations, and now building the technology in your hands. Through all of it, the same beliefs have held.

  1. Safety is a fundamental human right, and I act accordingly.
  2. Every person has the right to go home. Not as a policy. Not as a metric. As a human being with a life and a future worth protecting.
  3. Belief alone does not keep people safe. Systems do. Culture does. Technology does.
  4. I am a resource and an advocate for the people doing the work, helping them do it safely and without compromise.
  5. Every person has the right and the duty to stop work when safety is uncertain, without fear of retribution.
  6. I live by the standards I set for others, honestly and genuinely.
  7. I treat every person with respect, dignity, and a right to privacy.
  8. I seek first to understand, and then to be understood.
  9. I never turn a blind eye to an unsafe act or practice.
  10. I lead with education first and treat discipline as a last resort.
  11. I recognize people publicly for what they do well, and address privately what needs to change.
  12. I use the best methods available and build proactive safety wherever I can.
  13. I am a lifelong learner. Safety and science are always changing, and I stay open to changing with them.

This is a contract I make with myself and every person I work with.
